There’s a handful of dogs that originated from France. Of course we can immediately rattle off the French Bulldog. In addition though, there is also the Bichon Frise, the Brittany and the Poodle.

I definitely couldn’t own a poodle, I think they’re ugly, to be honest. But I would love to get a French Bulldog for my pup to become bros with!

About the French Bulldog

These dogs are pretty easy going, loving, caring and I’ve heard their coats are super soft. Though they are super lovable, they have an almost endless supply of energy that sometimes makes it difficult to relax. Though they can get quite excited and playful, French Bulldogs aren’t known to snap or bite at you.

This small dog is a great companiion for those living in small quarters like an apartment or loft in the city. I’m interested in having a french bulldog because they seem to be sociable and easy going dogs with very little downside. I even think it’s cute that they snore!

Their approximate life span could be as much as 12 or 13 years if reasonably healthy. French Bulldogs though can become afflicted with problems such as breathing and eye problems. It’s important to not let your little guy free fed because large amounts of food are what cause the breathing issues.

Where To Get One

If you’re looking to get a French Bulldog as a pet you really should turn to your local animal shelter and see if you can find them there. So many dogs end up at the pound or a humane society looking for a good and responsible parent and home.

So before you spend money on one buying one from a store or a breeder. Head down to your local humane society and see if one is looking for a new home. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

French LA, Language

I recently started going to weekly Meetups to immerse myself in French conversation. There are a number in the Los Angeles area. It’s not only a great way to improve my French speaking and fluency skills but these gatherings are also a fantastic way to connect with other like minded people who are so much into French culture like myself.

Take a look for yourself, there’s a whole page dedicated to French conversation and similar searches on their website. There’s entire groups dedicated to:

  • French events in LA
  • French language groups
  • Mommy and Me French playgroups
  • French Cinema meetups
  • French cooking classes

If you are interested in anything and everything French I highly recommend checking out your local area for people with similar interests as yourself. The people are fun and there for the same reason you are. Let me know how your experience went when you go. Heck, maybe I’ll see you at one of them!

I love France and all things French! Ever since I went there on a family vacation as a little kid I was hooked. I’d like to share my travels and experiences of French culture and what I think makes France one of the greatest countries in the world.

It is truly a lovely place and I hope to share my adventures with you through this blog.

When I’m not sharing about my French adventures or photographs, I love seeking out the best French food and venues in and around the Los Angeles area.

If you are a French fan like I am, you will want to bookmark this page and come back to it as I will be updating this site with all things French.
